Bethesda Terrace in Central Park, New York City is a popular spot for both locals and tourists to visit. And rightfully so, because I absolutely love it as well, with all the arches and elegant vibes! I’m so excited I got to shoot Jillian & Melvin’s beautiful Central Park engagement photos there!
Central Park Engagement Photos: Why Bethesda Terrace?
Nestled in the heart of Central Park, Bethesda Terrace offers a magical blend of architectural and artistic beauty – making it the perfect backdrop for engagement photos. The intricate carvings, the majestic staircases, and the ethereal fountain all come together to paint a scene straight out of a fairy tale.
Historically, Bethesda Terrace was conceived as one of the most prominent displays of art in the Park, so there was no better place to capture the love of two artistic lovers aka, Jillian and Melvin.

We captured Jillian and Melvin’s engagement session in June ahead of their wedding in September. (My wedding packages of 8+ hours include a complimentary engagement session!)
One thing I absolutely adore about capturing engagements is the unique blend of personalities and stories each couple brings to the table. Jillian and Melvin are both dancers and overall artistic people, and I think that really came through in their engagement photos.
Oh, and here’s another fun fact – Jullian used to be an actress when she was younger and has been on a few TV shows back in the day. Although she’s left the acting world behind, her presence still steals the show – and Melvin’s heart, of course!
Jillian looked absolutely stunning in a sleek black dress, and Melvin matched her classy vibe effortlessly. Their outfits not only complemented each other but also stood out beautifully against the neutral tones of Bethesda Terrace.
